The school is located in the small rural district of TÓRTOLA DE HENARES. English at school, Social Sciences, Physical
Education and Arts etc. The lessons are taught at the primary level of education. Three courses determined by the center
are taught at the school as bilingual (Spanish, English). In addition, the school has other projects that are combined with
the sharing of activities such as the Healthy School Project, Eco School, Carmenta Project (digitalization of classrooms)
and STEAM Project. All English teachers in the school can communicate in English and the Erasmus coordinator and
language coordinator know how to handle teamwork as well as working with ICT to communicate between partners and
implement project activities.
Student parents are middle class. Regarding their academic careers, about 30% of parents have primary school, 10%
have high school, more than 45% have a tertiary education degree and about 15% have a university degree.
Our school was established in Tarsus, Mersin in 1966, on an area of 4000 m2. It receives a lot of immigration due to various reasons. The number of students who are disadvantaged (immigrant, broken family, economic, cultural, disabled) for this and many similar reasons is quite high. In the 2020-2021 academic year, normal education continues its education with 22 branches, 6 kindergarten classes and 1 special education class. Currently, 453 students and 32 permanent teachers are working in our school. There are a total of 3 administrative staff including the school principal and assistant principals. Classes have been opened for Severe Autistic Students in our school and 2 permanent teachers have been assigned to these students. In terms of educational activities of our school; Basic knowledge and skills are
taught to children in Social Studies, Turkish, Mathematics, Science, Human Rights, Visual Arts, Music, Physical Education and game , Free Activities courses.
The Secondary School’s Maths and Science teachers are particularly keen on ecology and environmental awareness.

Our staff has attended numerous seminars in Italy and abroad, as they believe it is necessary to communicate and
exchange information with our colleagues in Europe. The main activities of our school are education and training.
Science, mathematics, social and life science courses are taught in our school. We attach importance to the application
and use of new teaching methods in all courses. We are one of the few schools to design activities for sustainable life and
the world through the "Green generation" project in life studies courses. We try to make students aware of the importance
of ecological life, environmental literacy and most importantly the use of natural resources.
The Leonardo Da Vinci school is a comprehensive Italian school of 3 school levels. Primary school, lower and upper
secondary school, from 6 to 18 years. In primary school(8-12 ages) there are a total of 5 classes, 85 pupils. Lessons are
held in Italian and French. The pupils have many different nationalities from all over the world. Pupils change every year,
some move to another country or return to Italy. This offers us a great variety of cultures and a large dissemination. We
share personal and territorial experiences, good practices and imaginative solutions.
